The Wide Journal design is a must have for your high performance RB30 engine build. Born out of necessity, we created the Wide Journal crankshaft in order to combat the well documented big end issues that plague the OEM width big end bearing. By widening the crank pin, we alleviate the pressure that is put on the big end bearing, minimising the chances of premature big end wear and failure. This also enables tuners to be open and aggressive with their tuning strategies, reducing the need to adjust their tuning to accommodate the standard bearing. These cranks were an instant success, producing a multitude of world records.
Nitto 4340 billet crankshafts are produced from a high quality, double melted true billet round bar stock – unlike many of our competitors who use forged materials or lower quality 4340 bar stock equating to lower cost. The higher quality materials, combined with our design features, prevents flex and promotes stability under load, enabling our cranks to rev smoothly. This is so you benefit from drastically reduced harmonics when compared to OEM and other aftermarket crankshafts.
During quenching, heat treatment and nitriding, our crankshafts are accompanied by a sample piece of material throughout each of these processes. This sample piece is sliced and metallurgically analysed in order to guarantee that the quenching, heat treatment and nitriding meet our high standards.
Of course, this range does not stop at 4340 crankshafts. Nitto EN40B billet steel crankshafts are manufactured from high quality true billet round bar stock. EN40B crankshafts are manufactured in order to target the highest level of performance in drag racing and circuit racing. With a higher tensile strength than 4340 billet crankshafts, EN40B cranks have the ability to yield greater power and longevity which is critical for any sort of racing or exceptionally high performance application.
