We have worked closely with Trend Performance in order to develop our own range of Trend TP-1 gudgeon pins to suit our rods and pistons. Specifically designed to target high end performance upwards of 260hp per cylinder, we have used our experience with drag racing and circuit racing to tailor make these pins to be reliable and high performing. Trend have an exemplary reputation with their TP-1 material and are the industry standard for high end applications of any nature, which is why we have collaborated with them to develop our range of pins.
Why their TP-1 material? Trend’s TP-1 Series is a proprietary material designed to be superior to all other wrist pin materials available. The TP-1 pin has the toughness of a maraging steel and the hardness, compressive strength, and the surface qualities of M2 tool steel. TP-1 pin is heat-treated to a through-hardness of Rc60. For these reasons, Trend is the choice of pins for the leading drag racing teams globally and in Australia.
An important element of these pins is also the DLC coating. DLC stands for "Diamond Like Carbon" and provides an exceptional combination of hardness, wear resistance and low friction. It is a class of amorphous carbon thin films that exhibit characteristics similar to diamond, hence the name "Diamond Like Coating" and makes them ideal for high stress drag racing and circuit racing applications.
